Modern diets often throw out the acidic-alkaline balance of the body. This affects the body by taking it outside its normal pH range of 6.0 – 7.2. It is important that the body does not become either too acidic or too alkaline. For example eating a diet that is too protein-rich could form acid in the body taking it out of balance. A diet of only vegetables could take it the other way and make it too alkaline. It is important to keep this balance if we are to stay healthy.
